The client

Teaching Children to Read and Write (TCRW) is a non-profit website. Its mission is to provide free materials for teachers and parents to use with children struggling with their literacy skills.

The material is offered in a series of YouTube videos led by phonics expert Sue Lloyd.

Sue's concern was that the TCRW website was outdated and difficult to navigate.

Actions for the WebCap team to deliver were to modernise the site, improve the user experience (UX), and add functionality for users to track videos they have watched.

The Outcome

Our team performed a UX audit to identify design issues and requested feedback from TCRW website users.

The web design was reimagined to be intuitive to navigate. We created a way for users to see which videos they have already watched.
